The Garden of the Apennine Flora, in the village of Capracotta, located at 1525 m above sea level, is among the highest in Italy. It is a natural botanical garden, where the plant species of the native flora of the central-southern Apennines are preserved and protected.

Come and discover this precious floristic heritage preserved in natural habitats and, walking among the thematic flower beds together with the specialized guide, you will discover the 513 species of vascular plants, many of which are rare or  at risk of extinction.

Surrounded by a breathtaking panorama you will discover how to cook  some of the spontaneous plants of our territorysuch as the nettle or the mountain goldsmiths, ending with a cooking class.

Activities: guided tour of the natural environment of the garden and the museum of the forest. You have the opportunity to know typical mountain environments, such as the beech forest, the spruce, the pond, and the high mountain one, such as the cliff and the high-altitude grasslands, appreciate the thematic areas dedicated to medicinal plants and local horticultural varieties and enjoy the berries.

After the visit to the terrace, dedicated to natural edible plants, there will be a kitchen workshop. The participants will learn about the preparation of dishes, some of which are traditional, based on spontaneous edible species and will have the possibility to try also the activities of mixing of pasta dishes, as fresh pasta with plain egg nettle and/or stuffed with mountain goldfish and local cheese. The workshop will conclude with the tasting of the dishes prepared together.
