The “​Giardino della Flora Appenninica”​ – Apennine Botanical Gardens​ cover an area of about 10 hectares principally of Alpine flora and fauna, and it is situated at a height of 1,550 meters ​near Capracotta.

The garden contains about 300 endemic species in habitats including Beech forest, rocks and cliffs, scrub, and wetlands. It also contains about 200 species introduced from elsewhere in the south-central Apennine Mountains.

Our local guide you will accompany to taking you discover the terrace dedicated to spontaneous edible plants, after which you can participate in a cooking class where you will be able taste of the fruits of your labours.

A visit to the terrace dedicated to spontaneous edible plants followed by a cooking class where you will have an opportunity to learn how to create a variety of local dishes, many of which are traditional, and are based on locally sourced edible wild species. This will include making deliciously fresh pasta,stretching the dough by hand and using Nettles or Orapi (a type of Spinach)i stuffed with local cheese. You will of course finish the class by tasting the dishes you have prepared.
